![]() Ironically, the Chaos story offers the best content in Black Ops 4, as the heavily criticized maps like Blood of the Dead and Alpha Omega were part of the Aether narrative. IX is hugely replayable, Dead of the Night is challenging and underrated due to its great Easter eggs, and Ancient Evil is a genuine masterpiece. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies is fantastic. Though Voyage of Despair is an average map, its setting is spectacular, and every other Chaos entry was strong. The first Call of Duty game released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts had very little to differentiate itself from the series’s past games. If they try to appreciate it for what it is, they could find that it is far better than the community made it seem. Now that the story is over and expectations are out the window, Zombies fans could have an easier time just playing and enjoying the Chaos content. Zombies lobby is limited to 24 people per game. However, unlike in DMZ, where the maximum lobby size is 66, in MW3 Zombies, you will play with far fewer people per game. Had this not been the case, and if Black Ops 4 focused fully on Chaos, then the game would likely have been better appreciated. Instead, each new session will have other random players and squads on the map. Players had been invested in characters like Richtofen and Nikolai for a decade, and they were unwilling to grow attached to new ones while their stories remained unfinished. ![]() By splitting the community between two narratives, Treyarch ensured that longtime players would simply want the Chaos content to cease so that they could finally get to the conclusion of the Aether story. ![]() The ugly HUD and lack of promised features were detrimental, but an even bigger issue was that the community was unwilling to give The Chaos Story a proper chance. As mentioned earlier, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies had problems.
